Self Sabotage – It Works!

This is a quick little post that came to me last night.  After being at a beautiful fundraiser called Pirouette for the Kelowna ballet that included a four course meal with wine pairings, desert everything,I came home still craving chips.  I hit the cupboards only to realize that in my healthy minded grocery shop I did not purchase any such delights (or devils depending on how you look at it).

About an hour later my boyfriend got home and he also went straight to the cupboards looking to satisfy a salty craving.  He had to settle for Sweet Chilli rice cakes and call it a night.  It dawned on me that if I had a bag of chips in the house I probably would have went to town on them after already indulging more than enough in my wonderful dinner and all that wine!

The moral of the story is, if it’s not in your house the likelihood of you consuming it goes WAY down!  Plan for success!  If you are craving something to the point that you just must have it then you can make the effort to go to the store and get an INDIVIDUAL sized portion of whatever it is you’re dreaming of.  Note: This means if you feel like a brownie you should hit the bakery and buy ONE not an entire tray, we all know how that ends… tears and chocolate stains… not that I know from experience or anything.
